I rarely gave much thought to water bottles, and I used to grab whatever was handy. Then I got my insulated Klean Kanteen. Part water bottle, part coffee thermos, it comes with interchangeable lids—one that’s a carbineer friendly loop and the other that’s a standard coffee mug top. I can fill it with hot cup of joe at my house, drink it on the way to the hill, give it a quick rinse and fill at a resort drinking fountain, and be on my way with hydration in my pack.
