ON3P: Skis of a Different Sort.
Billy Goat (One of ON3P’s original models after it’s umpteenth revision)

SKIING: What's the story behind the latest Billy Goat?

TYCH: This ski has changed a lot since the first production model that we originally put on sale in 2009. The shape has gotten a tweak almost every year, mostly because of the fact that we have a pretty specific and ambitious goal for this ski - we want this to be the best soft snow ski out there. We want this to be the ultimate ski for the stuff we generally like to ski; aggressive, technical lines and glades drowned in deep powder.

This year, we introduced a new technology called RES (Reverse Elliptical Sidecut) that had originally been prototyped on the 191 Billy Goat during the winter of 2011. The ski is completely reverse sidecut from boot center forward, while having a normal sidecut radius in the tail. We’ve oriented it in a way that when the ski is on edge, you get solid edge contact between the RES in the tips and traditional sidecut in the tail, resulting in great edge hold and stability on hardpack. It is a strange design, for sure, and completely different than anything else out there. But we believe the current Billy Goat is the best ski we've designed to date. Bar None.  The best way I can describe it is natural. It does whatever you want
