84. Stress Management Take it a day at a time. Don’t let things overwhelm you. That’s all you can do.

85. Terrain Selection There’s a saying, “If snowpack is the problem, terrain is the answer.” Which means if the snowpack is poor, then by managing the terrain you choose and the way you travel—staying on ridges and away from steep slopes—you can usually safely navigate your way around danger.

86. Passion Have passion for what you do. Everyone makes mistakes, but as long as you’re willing to put in the effort, do the best you can, and stay open to learning, that’s all anybody can ask of you.

87. Respect Treat everyone fairly and with respect—that’s the biggest lesson I’ve learned over the years.

88. Pecking Order Mother Nature is the boss.
