The body of Kip Garre, an accomplished and highly experienced ski-mountaineer and guide, and that of fellow skier Allison Kreutzen were discovered Thursday, April 28th, in the Sierra mountains near Bishop, California. They had been attempting to climb and ski the Split Couloir on Split Mountain when an avalanche apparently swept them away, according to media reports.
