Montana State University

At Montana State University, located within an hour of three ski resorts, skiers have plenty of opportunities to learn about how skiing affects their bodies, as well as the effectiveness of gear and nutritional supplements, through the Health and Human Development department. Pursuing college athletics? NCAA Division I Bobcat has both Men’s and Women’s Nordic and Alpine Ski Teams. On campus, students and faculty are leading research on cold regions—read, ski areas—in the Engineering program, and their newly constructed Subzero Science and Engineering facility is unlike any other: it consists of eight laboratories, each designed with different cold research activities in mind. Those interested in a lively downtown won’t be disappointed by Bozeman’s offerings either; the town appeals to athletes, foodies, and artists alike.
