Skiing Magazine's 2008-09 All-Mountain Backcountry Skis (Women's)
AT: K2 Miss Baker (BEST IN TEST)

120/88/108 | $550

Noodly touring skis are no fun, nor are heavy planks. The top-scoring Miss Baker, slightly stouter than the Dawn Patrol (below), is a happy medium. Plus: It blasted through crud and broken snow. Minus: It gets a little shaky at high speeds. Tester’s Take: “This ski has the personality of a classic, old-school skier—super-solid without flash.” —Leslie Ross
