Dates: July 23rd – August 20th
SASS, which stands for South American Snow Sessions, operates summer training camps in the Patagonian backcountry. Instead of skiing corn on an over-crowded glacier, camp-goers will shred sick lines through Northern Patagonia powder. With a full staff of guides, including pro freeskier, Michelle Parker, SGT will teach students how to pick a safe line, build backcountry kickers, and dig proper snow pits. Sierra Nevada Mountain College has also teamed up with SGT to offer fully accredited college courses where campers can earn up to 12 credits during their stay in Argentina. This summer, SGT will offer two different college sessions with the option of staying for two, three, or four weeks. Check out their website for more info, or to learn about their other programs in Vermont, Colorado, and Japan.
