"A lot of people think that the Teva Mountain Games are for professionals only," says Woodworth. "But it’s for weekend warriors, beginners, and anyone who wants to test their abilities. The most gentle of the competitions is the mud run, it’s a fun run. It’s not really a 5K—it’s a little shorter than that. You jump over hay bales and through mud pits. It's a good thing for people wanting to initiate themselves. People dress up in costumes and at the end they get hosed off by the Vail Fire Department." The Mud Run takes place Saturday afternoon.
