I know I said “outside” of skiing, but you are in British Columbia in the middle of winter. So, if you want to leave the resort and have beacon, shovel, probe, and a partner, take a drive up to Rogers Pass. Between the skiing mecca of Revelstoke and Nelson, the pass offers incredible backcountry skiing in every direction. Get permits and check the avy report at the Rogers Pass Discovery Center, located at the summit of the pass.
