Black Diamond Verdict (2008)
This ski had no business ranking so well, because the test length was 180 centimeters—too short for most of our testers. But nearly everyone found it stable, smooth, and effortless. And it bit into harder snow when told to.
Props
A huge shovel buoys it in fluff. The stiff construction doesn’t get deflected by crud.
Gripes
The lightweight feel takes some getting used to.
Tester's Take
"Holds big turns so long, you’re checking your watch to see if it’s over." —Jake Bogoch
