The new Revert is part of Black Diamond's Freetour series of skis designed to be efficient on the way up and still plenty fun on the way down. It uses a narrower, more traditional touring footprint but with modern tip-and-tail rocker for improved soft-snow performance and easier turning. It's the ski that bridges the gap between Black Diamond's Freetour series and more dedicated Tour series. The Convert uses a mix of carbon and fiberglass laminates, a paulownia wood core, and thinner sidewalls to find the balance between weight and downhill-performance. Metal tabs on the ski's tail improve compatibility with climbing skins. Like all BD skis - except in the Tour series - the Verdict is built with the company's 3D CNC wood core - a milling technique that reduces weight without sacrificing performance. All of Black Diamond's skis are being built in a new, state-of-the-art, company-owned factory in China.
