Elan 888 ALU (2013)
Tester's Review
The 888 is the narrowest of Elan's capable mountain series and is a damp, traditional-feeling, carve-oriented ski. It prefers smooth, groomed snow. While its beefy feel worked well on-piste, imparting a glued-on sensation, off-piste agility suffered. But that last point is debatable: 60 percent of testers wanted more off-piste playfulness, while the rest Easterners in particular had a rollicking time with it in trees and bumps.
