Testers felt this year's ST2 stepped-up its on-snow game. The flex is still long and progressive (though a tad shy of the claimed 130 stiffness) but the stability and power to the edge has been boosted. According to testers, the ST2's best feature is also its most challenging to figure out. The five-position forward lean adjuster can be set in one of two different skiing positions—either a more fixed-rigid flex or long forward travel flex setting—and in one of five different forward lean settings. Some fit issues are still evident: While the cabrio lower made for smooth entry and exit, the low rooftop and thick liner tongue teamed to produce an uncomfortably firm fit over the midfoot. Higher instep feet may need a little work here. The shin fit is a touch abrupt and overly firm at the very top of the tongue. It improved with heat molding but didn't resolve the feel entirely.
