Fischer Prodigy (2014)
The Prodigy is a value-oriented all-mountain twin-tip with an 80 mm waist. It's a lightweight, inexpensive foam-core construction with all-fiberglass reinforcement (no carbon or metal), but it still features full sidewalls for optimized edge grip and solidity underfoot. The sidewalls are angled - less edgy than vertical sidewalls and more resistant to damage caused by the opposite ski's edge. It's only sold flat (no binding). The maximum length offered is 155, and it sells for about $250 in most shops. Family-owned Fischer Skis is based in Reid, Austria, where all its skis (and many of those of other brands) are built. Fischer says its factory in Reid is the second largest manufacturer of skis in the world.
