Garmont Astral (2010)
There’s no touring mode on these stiff, four-buckle freeride boots, but you can swap out the soles so you can click into AT bindings or walk up rocky ridges without slipping. Microadjust the buckles and heat-mold the liner for a more custom fit. PLUS: Precise and powerful on icy steeps, yet optimized for sidecountry use. MINUS: For touring, a walk mode would have been nice. But it’s still easy to flex without it.
PRICE (MSRP): $735.00
