One thing Goode, which got its start building carbon-fiber water skis, has always known how to do is build a super light ski. So for backcountry skiers, this company should be on the radar. The Three Sisters is Goode's widest women's backcountry model, with a waist-width of 98 mm. It has the same sidecut as the Affinity, but its core is 25 percent lighter. The core is made from a special foam stitched with Kevlar, which aims to give it the responsiveness and performance usually found in wood-core skis. A carbon-fiber torsion-box construction should give it plenty of snap.
