One thing Goode, which got its start building carbon-fiber water skis, has always known how to do is build a super light ski. So for backcountry skiers, this company should be on the radar. The 3 Sisters is Goode's all-condition women's backcountry model, with a waist-width of 88 mm. It has the same sidecut as the Nirvana, with enough girth to be able to handle any kind of condition it encounters, but its core is 25 percent lighter. The core is made from a special foam stitched with Kevlar, which aims to give it the responsiveness and performance usually found in wood-core skis. A carbon-fiber torsion-box construction should give it plenty of snap.
