But there' s almost no need to on the Impact. Sure, it gets good scores in Forgiveness; shovel rocker smoothes the ride and makes it easy to foot-steer. But let it run, and be amazed by the stability and edge grip. Want more oomph? K2' s Rictor is the same shape but with metal (and a beefier binding if you go the system route). But the smooth, fun Impact is plenty of ski. "Fun and easy; can be turned from any place on the ski," said Casey.
