No. 1 in Quickness, no. 2 in Rebound. That's the Rictor, which brought a livelier, more playful attitude to the Hard Snow category. It's got metal for stability and calm, but never feels edgy, doesn't have to be going 40 mph to enjoy itself, and is equally happy on or off the groomed. A dynamic, light-touch attack suits the Rictor best. It loves short turns but never feels nervous, and it won't make you work any harder than you want to. "Agile, energetic, comfortable." Notes: Like the Aftershock, the Rictor returns unchanged to K2's AMP series of men's all-mountain performance skis. With its 80 mm waist and moderate rocker, it's designed to split its time roughly evenly between groomed and ungroomed snow conditions. It's a wood-core (aspen/paulownia) metal-laminate Hybritech construction (sturdy vertical sidewall underfoot for edge grip, lightweight cap fore and aft for supple flex). Available as a system, it comes with a 12-DIN Marker/K2 MX binding. Also available flat for $810. K2's All-Terrain Rocker combines 70 percent camber with 30 percent tip/shovel rocker to smooth the ride, enhance forgiveness and improve soft-snow flotation. Mod Technology features an independently acting secondary core, raised above the deck, to focus power transmission where needed and reduce vibrations for better edge grip and high-speed calm. Mod Monic technology features a strategically placed module to further reduce vibrations.
