Scarpa Hurricane (2010)
Patrollers and inbounds hikers, meet your perfect boot. Thanks to light Pebax plastic (instead of the heavier polyurethane used in most alpine boots), the Hurricane weighs in at just 7.6 pounds per pair—more than two pounds lighter than comparable boots. But it’s still got plenty of power for driving big boards on soft snow. PLUS: Warm, light, heat-moldable liners and a beefy power strap. MINUS: Buckles were awkward and difficult to align.
