Replacing the Phoenix, this all-new wide-body has more anatomical shaping throughout the shell and liner that better matches a high-volume foot. It features a retooled asymmetric toe box shape, very high instep fit and more sculpted ankle and heel regions. Testers noted the boot seems less boxy, more contained and more agile—though still roomy as a bus. Testers agreed that the Ten.2 will stand up to a thick-footed, aggressive skier. Laterally strong was a frequent comment. There's plenty of edge power and a firm-enough forward flex but it's coupled with a more progressive, longer-travel flex feel than Tecnica's wide boot of yore. The fore-aft stance is very upright, even with the removable Velcro spoiler installed, and the cuff is very tall. A few testers felt they would like a little more heel lift, which for shorter guys would help mitigate the effect of the tall cuff height. Tester Comments: "The shin and calf fit keeps getting better in Tecnica's wide boots." "Yaba daba doo! Fred Flintstone finally has a performance boot.”
