The lightest and least demanding - and therefore least exhausting - member of the Code series of high-performance carvers lacks the two full sheets of metal reinforcement that the burlier L and S models feature, but a layer of carbon is designed to replace some of that power, and a special UVO dampening module on the shovel quiets vibrations without adding much weight. Volkl's Code series incorporates race-bred performance and construction in three recreational models built for high-speed carving precision and performance on firm, flat snow. All models feature Volkl's Power Construction: full wood cores for integrity; vertical sidewalls for reliable edge grip; internal torsion box construction for positive tip and tail edge engagement. The two top models, Speedwall L and Speedwall S, are metal reinforced. All models borrow the Speedwall technology from Volkl's Racetiger race skis: high-density sintered base material is used to construct the sidewalls, so they'll hold wax just as the bases do. Moderate tip and tail rocker makes the Code skis significantly more forgiving than the true race skis, but they're still built to have plenty of power.
