Völkl Nanuq (2010)
Somehow we ended up with a ridiculously short 170-centimeter test length, but the fact that even the big male testers raved about it says a lot. Yes, they acknowledged wanting a 180, but they liked its sure initiation, strong grip, secure on-edge feeling, and playfulness. plus: Easy to crank around in tight spots. minus: Not floaty enough to be a true big-mountain ski. Better suited to the allmountain category as a daily driver.
PRICE (MSRP): $850.00
