Nordica Olympia Speed (2007)
The Speed’s X-Balance System (two under-boot cantilevers help distribute your weight evenly from tip to tail) is no gimmick. Testers were able to carve precise arcs from a centered or backseat position. And the Speed was still forgiving enough to make skidding easy. gripes: No relaxing cruiser, this dynamic ski prefers short turns over long. props: As its name implies, the Speed is in heaven during long, fast arcs. tester’s take: "Fast, slow, and everything in between. They just rock." —Jen Brown
