With over 150 inches of summer snowpack near the summit and one of the longest seasons in North America, Girdwood, Alaska's Alyeska Resort is bringing back the popular Freestyle Summer Camp over two sessions: June 7-11 and June 14-18, 2010.

Camp participants should be intermediate skiers and above, as the camp will focus on coaching "freestyle" skills, featuring terrain park features and jumps commonly seen in the Winter X Games. Coaches include Alyeska Mountain Learning Center pros, coaches from Alaskan training programs Big Alaska Snowboard and Freeski Club, and Alyeska Ski and Snowboard Club. There will also be a few featured professional skiers and snowboarders on hand to lend their expertise.

The resort is bringing in experts from Snow Grind, a snow park design specialist, to construct a terrain park worthy of the surroundings.

Alyeska will also welcome The Levitation Project, a collective of talented artists, athletes, designers, photographers and cinematographers, and a number of Levitation Project team riders will be coaching snowboarding.

"I could not be more happy to see the camp back in action up here at Alyeska,” said featured coach Tim Durtschi , an Alaskan local who honed his skills on the slopes of Alyeska. “With the strength of the Alyeska freeride team this year, I think we are going to see one of the most active camps we have had in recent history. I am very excited to be back coaching, helping kids have the best time up here, learning new tricks, and reaching their goals. I know from experience that the warm weather, soft snow and summer sun are the best environment for that to happen!"

Registration is available on the Alyeska site (www.alyeskaresort.com) and at the Alyeska Tram Ticket Office. Campers can choose from one, three and five day camp packages, all of which include lift ticket, coaching and lunch. For those who are just interested in the skiing and not the coaching, the option to purchase a one-day lift ticket is available.

I was there only for skiing and it was so much of fun with my friends skiing over there in the hills of North America, Girdwood, Alaska's Alyeska Resort, but I stood there for only a day, I miss that place and can't wait to go there again and ski. We had fun there in the resort, sight seeing, swimming, taking hot showers, and also with lots of sources of entertainment is available over there. Me and my boys hung out the bar and enjoyed playing the pool and got drunk and we all fell down on the Pool Tables, at the side of the bar.I'm hope to go there again in june 14.
