Whistler Blackcomb Receives 2.5 Feet in Last 24 Hours

Whistler, BC, February 22, 2002--With 50 cm of snowfall overnight and 75 cm(2.5ft) in the last 24 hours, mountain enthusiasts are rejoicing at WhistlerBlackcomb. Skiers and riders lined up before the lifts even opened thismorning, eager to make the first tracks in the alpine.

The forecast for this weekend calls for clear skies and cool temperatures.With sunshine and powder, the conditions at Whistler Blackcomb should be unbelievable. "Our snow base just shot up to 320 cm, that's 10 1/2 feet for our American friends," said Christopher Nicolson, Manager of Public Relations and Communications. "This snowfall is going to provide anexcellent base for spring skiing."
