Dave Murray Racing Camp
WHY DAVE MURRAY: Dave Murry's camp offers a mixture of laid back skiing and structured camp instruction. There is one coach to every eight campers, so the emphasis is on the individual.
WHEN: Sessions are June 14-July 12 and are eight-day camps or five-day camps.
WHERE: Whistler, B.C.
FOR WHOM: The program is designed for racers of all abilities and ages, but most campers are in their late teens.
WHAT IT COSTS: Eight-day camps are $930 for local campers and $1100 for campers who require lodging. Five-day camps start at $530 for locals and $620 for campers who require lodging.
LODGING: The Tantalus Lodge in Whister Village. Campers sleep four to a suite. Suites include a full kitchen and living room in addition to two bedrooms. The Lodge has a pool, hot tub, tennis courts and volleyball court.
THE TRAINING: Dave Murray Ski racing teaches skiers slalom and giant slalom gate training techniques and how to ski faster, with more confidence. The program offers individual coaching as well.
EXTRA ACTIVITIES: Free time is spent mountain biking, swimming, canoeing, wakeboarding, hiking or playing soccer, volleyball and tennis.

Mt. Hood Race Camp
WHY MT. HOOD: Mt. Hood offers some of the best ski camps in North America attended by many ski clubs.
WHEN: Mt. Hood offers weeklong sessions May 26-August 24.
WHERE: Mt. Hood, Oregon
FOR WHOM: Advanced USSA racers, high school racers and anyone who wants to learn to race. Skiers as young as nine can participate, but the majority of campers are 12-16 years old.
WHAT IT COSTS: From $645-$945 per week, per child. Cost includes airport ground transfer, lodging, meals, lift tickets, coaching, video and activities.
LODGING: The Lodges at Salmon River Meadows. The lodge has accommodations for counselors and campers along with ski room, wax room, dining room and storage and game room. Outside, there are basketball hoops, volleyball and tennis courts and a soccer field.
THE TRAINING: Skiers train on upper and lower Palmer Glacier and the Upper Mile. Mt. Hood offers FIS 60 gate slalom courses, Dual Slaloms and roller courses. EXTRA ACTIVITIES: Free time is spent playing soccer, white water rafting, rock climbing, mountain biking, windsurfing, hiking and more.
