You're hungry, you're driving to the mountains, you're salivating for...homemade pie. You're in luck, Chuck: If you're Tahoe bound on I-80 east, pull over with all the other skiers at Ikedas for a Marionberry pie (a Marion is technically a cross between a logan and a tay berry-with crack, in a hotel room, caught on video). The Pie Guy's joint, a bakery and café on the access road to New Hampshire's Tenney Mountain, might not be as busy, but the Old Fashioned Apple explodes on the tongue. And if you're out on Highway 61 between Duluth, Minnesota, and Lutsen Mountain, drop by Betty's, which has made the best strawberry pie in the Upper Midwest since 1958.
