Jackson Hole, WY Mar. 24--Boulder, Colorado's own Chris Puckett won the US Alpine National downhill race today by 0.32 seconds over Canadian Darin McBeath, who won yesterday's FIS downhill.
"I knew I had to do everything right today," explained Pukett of his key to victory. "Today, I just started my turns earlier and stayed on my skis."
Sidelined for the 1999 season by injuries sustained in a Thanksgiving Day crash, this victory is just what Puckett needed to get back into the groove.
"I felt good today," continued Puckett. "This is a great way to end the season. This really makes me look forward to next season."
