HOW NOT TO ROB A BANK
See if you can one-up the heist allegedly perpetrated by Australian Luke Carroll and New Zealander Anthony Prince. According to police, last March, the pair walked into Vail's WestStar bank armed with a BB gun and wearing ski masks, snowboard clothes, and name tags that were eerily similar to the ones provided by their employer. Carroll and Prince made off with $130,000 in cash, hopped on a chairlift, and snowboarded to a getaway car. (Rumor has it the duo even snapped a few pictures of themselves holding the loot.) Next day, the two got busted at Denver International Airport trying to skip town. "Taking pictures of yourselves with the cash is very amateurish," notes Bill Woodward, former Colorado director of criminal justice. Then again, he says: "Using the ski lift as their getaway route was probably the best-thought-out part of this robbery."
