Aspen Hosts "The Meeting" This Weekend

posted: 10/04/2006
by Whitney Levine

High-profile skiers, including Seth Morrison, Tanner Hall, Steele Spence, and Jamie Pierre, will walk the powder carpet to view and comment on 11 of the season's most anticipated films.

In addition to the film screenings, videographers, pro athletes, journalists, and everyday fans hold group discussions to help shape the future of ski film. "They sit there, and they have a think tank of where the industry is going, what's the next big thing, and who's doing what," said Jeff Hanle, Senior Communications Manager for Aspen/Snowmass.

To add to the video-themed weekend, the NEPSA (that's Aspen spelled backwards) Video and Art Awards take place the first night. Filmmakers, athletes, and artists from all over the country come to showcase their work in sculpture, painting, photography, and video art related to the action sports world.

Aspen/Snowmass expects to sell out the Wheeler Opera House — which holds some 500 people — during the event, as they have done in the past. Tickets are available at the Wheeler Box Office in Aspen for $5 from now through day of show. See below for the schedule.
