Suzuki Halfpipe Jams Competition Comes to Squaw

Squaw Valley USA (Squaw Valley Press Release)—Squaw Valley is teaming up with Suzuki Automotive and Skiing Magazine to bring you the Suzuki Halfpipe Jams competition on Saturday, April 15th. This will be one of the premiere freeride events of the season and will kick off Squaw's Spring Jam 8 festival. Athletes will showcase their skiing and riding skills in the Superpipe, as they go head-to-head for more than $5000 in cash and prizes.

When Suzuki comes to Squaw, they're going all out. On the day of the Superpipe competition there will be a "Suzuki Village at the Squaw Valley Base Area where you can check out the all-new Suzuki Grand Vitara and Suzuki's new snowboarding concept vehicle, the Blizzard. Plus, you can demo the latest ski and snowboard equipment from Élan and Nitro, as well as sample the latest flavors of Nature Valley granola bars.

Competitors can register for the Suzuki Halfpipe Jams from 8:00 - 10:00 am in the "Suzuki Village at the Squaw Valley base. From 10:00 -11:00 am competitors can practice their grabs, spins, and airs in the Ford Freestyle Superpipe in Mainline Park. The first round of the competition, the preliminaries, will take place from 11:00 am- 2:00 pm. Those who go big and brave will compete in the semifinals from 2:00 - 3:00 pm. In the finals the most skillful men and women, skiers and snowboarders, will compete from 3:00 - 3:30 pm to take home the big money prize.

Following the competition, Squaw's Base Area will be rocking with a live DJ, the Halfpipe Jam awards ceremony, and tons of free prizes and giveaways.
