Stevens Pass Winter Resort to Re-Open Thursday

SKYKOMISH, Wash. — Washington state's most popular ski and snowboard area, Stevens Pass, announced today that it will re-open on Thursday, Feb. 17, for the 2004-2005 skiing and riding season.

"This last weekend our snow dancing finally paid off, said Stevens Pass General Manager John Gifford. "More importantly, based on our long term weather models, it looks like it's here to stay.

Stevens Pass received nearly 22 inches of snow over the weekend. According to the resort's most recent snow report statistics Stevens Pass has nearly three feet of snow in the base area and nearly four feet at the summit.

When it opens on Thursday, Stevens Pass will operate the Hogsback, Skyline, Tye Mill and Daisy chairlifts from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Special, lift ticket prices are as follows:

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.*
Adult (13-61)

  • $35 + tax
    Youth (7-12)
  • $25 + tax
    Senior (62-69)
  • $26 + tax
    Beginner
  • $23 + tax
    * Prices discounted after noon.

    Guests with season's passes from other areas can present their season pass at the Stevens ticket window and receive a 25 percent discount on weekday lift tickets or receive a $5 discount on weekend lift tickets.

    The following Stevens Pass facilities will also be open on Tuesday: Fall Line Sports, The Edge, Rossignol Tech Center, Stevens Pass Ski & Snowboard School, Cascadian Kitchen, Bull's Tooth Pub & Eatery, T-Bar Market, Iron Goat Pizza Station, and the Tye Creek Bar.

    Stevens Pass will open additional lifts and terrain, adjust ticket prices and extend hours as conditions permit.     The Stevens Pass Shuttle will begin roundtrip passenger operations from the Mountain View Chevron in Sultan beginning on Saturday, Feb. 19. The shuttle, which costs $5 per roundtrip, will run weekdays until Feb. 25, 2005. Weekend shuttles will through Feb. 27, 2005 and Presidents' Day. Riders can access the entire Stevens Pass Shuttle, including departure times, at www.stevenspass.com.
