Lake Placid, NY, June 30--Employees at Whiteface, Gore Mountain and the Olympic venues in Lake Placid run by the Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) ratified a new four-year contractyesterday by a vote of 97 to 38.
The contract replaces a previous agreement that expired March 31, 1999 and represents months of negotiations between ORDA and the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA). It affects about 500 workers at the two ski areas and other Olympic sites.
The new pact means increases in starting wages of new employees ranging from 10 to 20 percent and provides for a series of salary increases of 3 percent retroactive to October 1999, 3 percent retroactive to April 2000 and two others of 3.5 percent each over the next two years.
