As much as you may or may not be paying attention to what they mean, the children of the Pacific can have a dramatic influence on the winter season, from Tahoe to Alaska. Last night (the evening of September 9th, for those who are keeping score) Jackson Hole got an early season dusting of snow. They called it six inches, but it looks like a little more than that to us. It dumped enough that the locals took it upon themselves to take some turns.
