When X Games medalist Grete Eliassen launched 31 feet into the air on a custom-built jump at Utah's The Canyons Resort last week, she broke the height record for a female skier. Here's a video of her going 60 mph into the 30-foot jump.

At Snowbird, Utah’s Freeskiing World Championships last weekend, rookie Sara Mancuso, age 20, placed fifth and earned the Snowbird North Face Young Gun Award. We spoke to her while she was writing music on a pier by Lake Tahoe about her budding ski career and the influence of her older sister, Julia Mancuso, who won two silver medals at the 2010 Olympics.

This past weekend, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, hosted the Ski Mountaineering National Championships, where 82 randonee racers clad in tight suits and super lightweight skis climbed and descended 7,850 feet in less than three hours.
