Brian Bielmann is a Hawaii-based surf photographer who shoots for magazines like Transworld Surf and companies like Volcom and Red Bull. In April, he competed against ski photographers at a photo contest at the Whistler World Ski and Snowboard Festival—and he won. We spoke to Beilmann about the differences between ski and surf photography.

Jackson Hole, Wyoming-based KGB Productions has a new ski movie out next fall called Wyoming Triumph, which is all shot in their backyard—the Tetons. We spoke to KGB's Sam Pope about making a local ski movie and how they got the film sponsored by a whiskey company.

Ski movie season isn't till the fall, but we've got a behind-the-scenes look at a segment from next year's Warren Miller ski movie, the 61st film from Warren Miller Entertainment. In this shot, big-mountain skier Arne Backstrom heads to Lake Tahoe's Heavenly ski resort to shoot some powder skiing with cinematagrapher Tom Day. Check it out here.

Snowbird Resort has reported four and a half feet of powder within the last week and says 30-40 more are predicted to fall in the next few days. Ski-and-stay deals start at $99. What are you waiting for?

Winter isn't finished with us yet. Just about every state in the West has been getting hammered by this latest storm. We got out to sample the goods at Monarch, Colorado today. With 6 inches reported and much more deposited by the wind it was a great day to be storm riding in Colorado. Make sure you get out this weekend somewhere and get some.

It is still dumping snow across the west. Tahoe is getting hammered with feet upon feet of snow. Grand Targhee, Snowbird, Silverton Mountain, Alyeska—they're all getting snow. Winter isn't over—get out and ski powder while you still can.
