Not really fair to Bachelor, on the one hand terrain is not most varied in the state, see RTS at Willamette Pass for steeps, and see also Ski Bowl for same. On other hand, tons of runs off of Summit Chair are stunning on a good day -- Cow's Face, Pinnacles, West Lodge, Summit to runs off Northwest Territories; tree skiing in that same area, wrapping around to the west of the mountain. Just be sure not to overstep the ski area boundaries. Great tip for when to ski the Dutchman. However, you can take a run east of Cow's Face and end up well east of the out of bounds on Dutchman. Wonderful powder tree-skiing, as long as you watch where you are going and ski with friends who can find you if you really screw up. God forbid I should encourage anyone to ski out of bounds here. Some phenomenal tree skiing/crud skiing off of some of the old chairs, black, red, at the base of the mountain. Also, get to the top of the Cinder Cone and ski down. Having said all this, I ski at Ski Bowl and Meadows most of the time.
