Sweating in the gym gets your body primed for the slopes, but if your visual skills aren't up to par, your skiing won't be, either. To practice crucial distance skills, pick an object across the room and guess how many paces away it is. Pace it off. Next, have a friend draw an arrow on paper, then stand back five feet, facing away from him. On his command, turn around and hop as quickly as possible in the direction the arrow points. Then, jump the opposite direction of the arrow. They're simple skills, but they'll make workouts more worthwhile.
