Interview

What is your fondest childhood memory?  It would have to be the countless hours spent sliding and playing on/in snow with all of my family.

What was the most memorable moment of your life ... on snow?  There are far too many great moments to name just one, and far too many bad moments that are maybe a little more memorable. I hate to say it, but the injuries really stick with you, and the pow turns start to blend together.

What would surprise your fans most about you?  I just bought a 1979 Toyota 2wd pickup. I avoid the freeway if possible and try not to go over 50-55 mph. I want to keep driving this truck for awhile.

Who’s your favorite musical artist that you’ve just heard of in the last 6 months?  I met this guy playing his violin in the Portland airport this winter, Jimmy Free. It's good and relaxing.

When you're having a bad day, what do you do to cheer up?  If it's winter, I go ski or snowmobile.  In the summer, I still ski and/or mountain bike. I just go out and do something to get my mind off what might be bothering me.

Who has influenced your skiing style the most?  The Nimbus crew has had a huge impact on the way I ride, but I would say my family has pushed me to where I am.

What are you passionate about after the snow melts?  I like water sports and wheeled vehicles.  Be it boats, boards, bikes - motorized or not, and offroad vehicles. I really just like to have fun. Oh, and I'm working hard on getting rid of the goathead problem on my property.  But that isn't really a passion, it's a must-do.

What’s the best après-ski food?  Steak, salad, and OJ.  Or maybe pizza.
