How long have you been skiing?
Since I could walk.
What's normally going through your head when you’re skiing?
This is total Freedom. How lucky I am.
What did you like and dislike about skijoring in Leadville, CO? What was the craziest part of the experience?
The entire event was crazy. What was there to dislike about that? I mean, this subculture of ski cowboys have held onto a crazy tradition in a world that is so careful all the time. But I did dislike the idea of being hit in the nuts from a Shoe being thrown by a horse.
Do you think you’ll try skijoring again?
Probably. It was enough adrenaline to make you wonder why… just enough to do it again.
Where is your favorite ski location of all time?
The toughest question I the world. I have had my all time top runs in the past three years. One in Alaska, 5 in Italy, and 6 in Beaver Creek last year. I thought I had entered the twilight zone during all of them.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not skiing?
Movies, Movies and more movies... As well as hanging with my friends and going to the movies. No really, I just like slowing down and breathing.
What was your favorite aspect of filming with the Warren Miller crew this year?
That they actually took my suggestion of going to this Ski Joring event in Leadville Colorado, seriously. I felt like I had reached an entire new level. Until I hit the ground and tore my face off. Then I was wondering, whose idea was this?
Over the years, what has been your most memorable “Warren Miller Moment”?
Another tough question. There have been so many. Off the top of my head, my first shoot in Europe with two of my idols and brand new cars. I felt like a kid out of the hood that just got asked to play in the NBA for a game. Than there was Norway, when I was sitting on top of a Mountain above the Arctic Circle all by myself in the middle of the night. The sun did not drop below the horizon, the sky was purple, and I was just thinking... Amazing... Can you believe I'm here? Then I realized that no one but me would ever know that feeling.... Just one of the many during 19 years with this crew.
What’s your favorite Warren Miller film? And, we have to ask... How many Warren Miller films have you been in?
I have been in 19, and I hope this is not close to the end. I have so many more ideas. My favorite... Tough one again. But I'm going to go with COLD Fusion. It just made a leap forward from the previous years and set the bar much higher for the next generations of Warren Miller films.
