Interview

What is your fondest childhood memory?  Finding the sport of rock climbing when I was 15 in North Conway, NH.

What was the most memorable moment of your life ... on snow? Either winning my first World Extreme Skiing title or the moment I skied my final 14er in Colorado after almost a year trying to ski them all.  Oh, and summitting Mt. Everest on a perfect blue-sky day was pretty sweet also.

What would surprise your fans most about you?  Probably that I saw 70 Grateful Dead shows.

Who’s your favorite musical artist that you’ve just heard of in the last 6 months?  Hmmm, maybe Paper Diamond.

When you're having a bad day, what do you do to cheer up?  I don't have many bad days, but getting outside for a bike ride or a ski usually does the trick.

Who has influenced your skiing style the most?  It's hard for me to name specific influencers, but I definitely looked up to what Scot Schmidt was doing in the early 90's.

What are you passionate about after the snow melts?  I still love playing in the mountains after the ski season - just with my rock shoes or my bikes.

What’s the best après-ski food?  Probably a nice cheese fondue at a small mountain hut in the Swiss Alps.
