Interview

What is your fondest childhood memory? Skiing in Tahoe

What was the most memorable moment of your life ... on snow? Winning the 2003 Hahnenkamm DH in Kitzbuhel, Aut and then in 2004 finishing 3rd in a make up DH, 1st in the Super G and 2nd in the DH.  To be on the podium three days in a row at the most intense race on the World Cup was incredible.  2008 X-Games Skier X Gold and skiing big mtn lines in Alaska, Europe and Tahoe just adds to my life's moments.

What would surprise your fans most about you?  I get scared on heli drop offs in AK.  It takes dropping in on the first turn to release that stress.

What is your most proud accomplishment recently?  Creating an all mountain race series with head to head action.  The Rahlves' Banzai Tour connects to the past with natural terrain and snow conditions mixed with ski and boarder cross action.  It's rewarding to see others get that same competitive buzz I have had my entire career. The rewards from putting it all on the line tell you what you're made of and this event demands your best skills, tactics and willingness to hang it all out.

When you're having a bad day, what do you do to cheer up? Get a hug from my kids.

Who has influenced your skiing style the most? The Mountains.

What are you passionate about after the snow melts? Motocross and Surfing.

What’s the best après-ski food? In this order: Red Bull, water, mushroom/sausage pizza and cold beer.
