Interview

Where would you like to ski that you haven’t been to before?
South Georgia, Patagonia, Dolomites in Italy

Who has been the biggest influence to you in your ski career?
My first ski coach, Tom Johnston.  He taught me the fundamentals of skiing and downhill racing. I still hear his voice in the back of my head while I'm skiing everyday. Ron Von Hagan, Professional Beach Volleyball player, for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to pursue my dreams. And of course all of the women who out charging in the mountains: Ingrid Backstrom, Kim Havell, Kit Deslauriers, Julia Monego, and many more inspire me everyday.

Where is your absolute favorite spot for après-ski?
Fernet in Verbier has the best Apres in the World. It is only open from 5-8. There is always a live band with tons of people dancing, crowd surfing, shot luges, and patrons dancing on the bar. My favorite is when it gets too hot, the ceiling opens up to the starry night and cools the crowd down. It's epic! Krasnaya Poliana in Russia has a pretty amazing après-ski as well. There are women walking around in fur bikinis serving shots of vodka. You don't see that too often.

Who do you like to ride with?
Almost anyone who loves skiing and adventure! If you have a huge smile on your face, I am immediately drawn to you.

What is something you wish you had more time for outside of skiing?
I wish I had more free time to brainstorm and be creative. I am always thinking of new ideas and adventures, but never seem to have enough time. And maybe a few extra hours of sleep.
