Interview

Who has had the biggest influence in your life?

Wow, hard question. There have been so many its hard to name just one or two. I would have to say many of the coaches I had throughout my hockey career and then there’s the like of Doug Coombs, Mike Wiggle, Wayne Gretzky, etc. So many offer so many different inspirations.

What other hobbies / activities are you currently into, what do you do when your not skiing?

Flying my airplane, gym, hunting and fishing. Always looking for the next opportunity!

What’s the last book you’ve read?

Wager in the Wind (Don Sheldon story...1st guy to land on the high glaciers of Denali)

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

King of the Chugach!

Boxers or briefs?

Boxers.

How old were you when you first tried on skis?

2 years of age...Mt. Alyeska, Girdwood, Alaska.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse?

100%, I say it all the time.

Of Warren Miller’s 60 ski films, which one is your favorite?

The last 9, as I am very thankful to be a part of them all!!! Steep and Deep is legendary with Schmidt sending the big cliffs a Sqauw, our home Mtn.

How was filming with the Warren Miller crew different this year than in years past?

This year was unique as it involved our staff of guides. It was cool to be around your buddies while trying to accomplish this piece and push each other. We had great conditions so I am excited to see the outcome!

What are a few of your favorite menu items at PNH?

Meat-loaf night, of course halibut night is good to....
