What is your fondest childhood memory? Probably watching my brother rip-it in a purple one piece pole-planting like mad but not really turning at all... just basically straight-lining but moving his poles back and forth FLYING down the mountain.
What was the most memorable moment of your life ... on snow? One morning skiing at Alta with Billy... He kept hitting a double that I didn't have the guts to hit. My last run with him before he had to take off I looked at it from the bottom while he hit it and then rolled up to me and said "Burks, you really should hit that- you'd be fine" .... Then, of course he had to leave for some other engagement and I lost my skiing partner for the day AND my encouragement--- BUT-- I went back up and stood on the top of it for a bit... I decided to nut-up and hit it and landed no problem. I had a smile on my face, but then my cell phone started going off... Billy was on the other line "YEAH BURKS!! I KNEW you could do it!?!? That was sick!!" ..... turns out he had started driving out of the parking lot and then stopped along the side of the road to see if I would hit it.... he knew me! It made me feel so good to know that he cared to stop and show me some support- even though he had to get out of there... That was a GREAT MOMENT FOR ME.
What would surprise your fans most about you? I'm good at doing hair. . . especially obnoxious 90's Up-Hair styles?
Who’s your favorite musical artist that you’ve just heard of in the last 6 months? wow. last six months?.... um um... I've been into White Rabbits?
When you're having a bad day, what do you do to cheer up? Eat. Who has influenced your skiing style the most? Billy Poole & Seth Morrison.
What are you passionate about after the snow melts? Packing four small items into a VERY small vacation bag and getting my toes in the sand for a while and doing some surfing. (I'm not very good - but that doesn't mean it isn't the first thing I think of when skiing season is over)
What’s the best après-ski food? Fondue, Chamonix, after partying a bit at the Chambre Neuf in your ski boots.
