Round up your best neon ski-gear at the 7th Annual 80’s Ski Party hosted by First-Descents, with official sponsors Warren Miller Films and Vail Resorts. Emceed by Warren Miller skier Chris Anthony, The Bachelorette’s Ryan Sutter and First Descents Founder Brad Ludden, the event is raising money for the E.P.I.C. foundation; a corporation that provides funds to charitable causes, organizations, and foundations.
Setup as a memorial for Adam Barron, a kayak and outdoor enthusiast who died in May, 2006, “The E.P.I.C. Foundation is honored to have First Descents on board for the 7th annual 80’s Ski Party,” says Steve Billigmeier with the E.P.IC. Foundation. “We were immediately inspired by First Descents’ organization and quickly realized they would be a natural fit to help continue the tradition of the “80’s Ski Party” and carry on the spirit of Adam Barron.”
Enjoy 80’s arena rock favorites covered by Boulder-based group, The Champions, while snatching giveaways that will range from tickets to this year’s Warren Miller film, Wintervention, to an Epic season pass to Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, and Heavenly. General tickets, purchased in advance, are available now for $40 while VIP tickets are $100.
“First Descents’ culture has always been to celebrate life and let go of trivial troubles,” says the non-profit’s founder Brad Ludden. “We’re honored to be involved with the 80’s ski party and the E.P.I.C. Foundation this year and couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate our programs, FD’s Mission, our new home in Denver and the mountain lifestyle that is at the core of who we are.”
First Descents is partnering later that weekend with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Denver Marathon on Sunday, October 17th. For more information on the 80’s Ski Party, visit www.80skiparty.com and learn about First Descents at www.firstdescents.org.
