The Laser SC is super quick , has fantastic edge hold, and is surprisingly good in the moguls. The ski is a cross between a slalom and GS (the tail is closer to a GS ski) and allows you to change the radiius of the arc fairly easily. You can certainly race it, in a Masters-type course. I use it as a carver when the soft snow is all scraped off, and it performs as well as anything I've ever tried. It is sImilar to the Race Tiger, but a little quicker (more narrow waist). A very well built ski, as are all Stocklis that come out of their factory.
